WHAT HAVE BEEN ACCOMPLISHED:
JMEC has been structural consultant for the conceptual design of the San Francisco Airport Runway Expansion. Work performed include:
Evaluated feasibility of using precast prestressed concrete deck
Evaluated feasibility of using 36", 42" and 48" steel pipe piles
Reviewed and develop design criteria for structural design of offshore runway
Performed pushover analysis for pile design
Performed three dimensional FEM analyses for live load (FNLA), temperature, seismic and expansion movement
Designed precast prestressed concrete deck
Attended meetings with Airfield Development Bureau
Attended peer review meetings with the Blue Ribbon Review Panel
Prepared schedule for final design.
